“Reaching out the hand of friendship to the older people in our community, especially those caring for others or in isolation.”
The Honeypot Café is a warm and welcoming community group run by members of Freedom Church every Friday from 10:30am–12:00pm. Our aim is to create a safe, friendly space where older people can build friendships, feel supported, and enjoy genuine connection with others in the community.
Through conversation, shared refreshments, weekly activities, and practical support, we hope to help reduce loneliness and encourage meaningful relationships - not only with our team, but with one another.
Everyone is welcome at The Honeypot Café. You do not need to attend church or have a Christian faith to come along. We simply want to offer a place where people feel valued, included, and cared for, with kindness and compassion at the heart of everything we do.
We are also proud to be a dementia-friendly group, striving to create an environment where people living with dementia, along with their families and carers, feel safe, understood, and supported.
Each week, guests gather around a large communal table to chat, laugh, take part in simple activities, and enjoy homemade refreshments in a relaxed and peaceful environment.
The Honeypot Café is led by Angie and her team of dedicated volunteers, who help make every Friday morning welcoming, supportive, and full of friendship.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ.”
Galatians 6:2
Whether you are looking for companionship, support, or simply a friendly place to belong, you are always welcome at The Honeypot Café.
