What?
Freedom SEND Ministry.
Creating a safe, welcoming space for people with special educational needs and disabilities, together with their carers, to connect, socialise, and build community.
The SEND Café is a friendly and inclusive community group run by members of Freedom Church every Thursday from 10:30am–12:00pm. Our aim is to provide a relaxed and supportive space where people of all abilities feel welcomed, valued, and able to enjoy meaningful connection with others.
The SEND café is designed to help reduce isolation, encourage friendships, and create a sense of belonging for both attendees and carers. Whether coming for conversation, activities, refreshments, or simply to spend time with others, everyone is welcome.
You do not need to attend church or have any faith background to join us. The SEND Café is open to all, and we want every person who walks through the door to feel comfortable, accepted, and included without judgement.
Each week we enjoy refreshments, conversation, and simple activities that encourage interaction, creativity, and fun. The café space is arranged to create a calm and friendly atmosphere where people can relax and connect at their own pace.
At the heart of the SEND Café is a desire to celebrate people for who they are, recognising the value, individuality, and strengths that every person brings to the community.
The SEND Café team is Jess, Carrie, and Sarah, who are passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for everyone who attends.
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
Ephesians 4:2
Whether you are looking for friendship, support, community, or simply a place to feel at home, you are warmly invited to join us at the SEND Café.
